CULTURE CHAIR - Sepideh Garmroudi

Hello ISG… My name is Sepideh, but you can call me Sepi… I was born in Iran and raised in the U.S. I’m currently a fourth year Anthropology major and I’m honored to have the opportunity to be on the ISG board as a culture chair. In addition to ISG, I am also involved with the National Honor Fraternity Phi Sigma Pi where I am on the board as well. I love being involved in these two organizations because they allow me to be with such a diverse group of friends, as well as teaching me valuable skills. From my perspective, Persian events are a time to celebrate and come together with family and friends. Since many of us are far away from home, I want us to feel like a family of students celebrating together. I will strive to specifically ensure that the events are completed in a thorough and organized manner. My goal is to make sure that those students who cannot be with their families during these times will not feel like they are missing out. Also, I would like every event to be well-attended to provide all students with the true knowledge of the Persian culture. I am so proud of my Persian culture and I’d like to ensure that every other Persian student feels the same, and never forgets the importance of their roots. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you soon!
